Meet Vaughn

our next great tech success story

A young Black man from the inner-city came to us a few years ago and whispered that he dreamed of being a Chief Technology Officer because he didn't want anyone from the neighborhood to laugh at his high hopes.  He said he was going to leave town because he didn't know who to turn to locally for encouragement or support.  We took him under our wing and cheered him on as he got himself admitted to a community college to study Computer Science.  He showed real signs of commitment cutting his hours at work and passing his first Algebra test.  Until one day we got that dreaded call that he couldn't afford to take care of his child on his reduced earnings and also cover his school expenses.  Comparatively the costs probably weren't that high for most people, but for a guy like him - dropping out could be his only option.  He didn't know who to turn to for help, and neither did we.  That day we vowed to be a part of positive change.

If there are young men and women of any age, ethnic background, or income level with the drive to break into this industry, we should do every thing in our power as a community to help them along their way.

We are raising money to be able to offer cash grants in the form of tuition assistance to make sure that anyone and everyone who has what it takes to be a technologist can at least be given a fighting chance to succeed.
